ALL THINGS

Between my first son and first daughter, I experienced a miscarriage at 12 weeks and then a blighted ovum that we discovered at 9 weeks. At that time, I believed in God but didn’t truly know Him. I spent my life believing He was there, ruling over us high on His throne, but I didn’t understand His heart or His love for me. So, when going through those losses, I ached, hurt, and cried out, wondering why. I believed there was something wrong with me—that I was created to birth life, and I couldn’t. I thought I had done something wrong or that He was punishing me.

What I didn’t know was that there is an enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) and that God's ways aren’t our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). We don’t always understand why these things happen, but in the unknown, if we know and trust God, we can believe that He will use all circumstances for our good (Romans 8:28).

Fast forward to 2021: we had our daughter, and the Lord began drawing my husband and me closer to Him. I gave my life to the Lord later that year, and my husband did so early the next. We had originally thought our daughter completed our family, but after coming to the Lord, we knew we were supposed to have more children. So, we quickly became pregnant with Casey, and through the complications and losing him, the enemy came again. He tried to get me to doubt God’s love for me and to blame myself, but the Lord had written the truth on my heart.

Not that I didn’t still fall for the traps at times, but I had the power to come out of agreement with them because I knew God loved me. I knew that despite how I felt, the truth is, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). That scripture, along with Genesis 50:20, birthed Casey’s Cause.

Because God isn’t distant evil ruler high on His throne looking down on us—He wants a relationship with us. He loves us, and that is the reason He sent His Son to reconcile us to Him (John 3:16). So that we would know His heart and His love. Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted, and He has healed my heart and saved my life. It’s my faith in Him that carried me through this loss and radically transformed my life for the better. And He’s inviting you into that same healing and transformation. If you want to know more about the Lord and His healing power, please reach out to us as Casey’s Cause. We would love to share more about Him and what He has done in our lives.
